Pet Portraits Taken With Your Own Photos

The key to success! When taking your dog's photo is you need to crouch down and take it at their eye-level. Thats it!

Hold a treat in your hand - it will definitely grab their attention!

Taking the photo outside in natural daylight is by far the best option ... which is a daily occurrence when your four-legged friend takes you for a walk.

A clever tip! For those that have a small or light weight dog is to ask a friend to hold it slightly to one side - it will give the same result as the all important taking the photo at their eye-level.

For us this is a great photo as we do not need the whole body just the head & shoulders (don't forget the pointy ears!) it is taken outdoors with a clutter free background.

HOW IT IS DONE

Should I take a new photo?

We highly recommend that you take new photos for us to achieve the best final result. As natural daylight is the best option take some photos outdoors such as in the garden, park or on your next dog walk.

Top Tip - For the very best results take the the photo's of your dog at their eye level - crouch down or with small dogs hold them in your arms to the side of your body.

Can I use my mobile?

Yes! All modern smartphones take excellent photos, and chances are that you will have it with you on your next dog walk. A good tip is to check that the phone settings are set to taking the largest photo size possible.

How many photo's shall I take?

Take a selection of photos when your dog is looking a little to either side. Don't forget to take a photo straight on. Have a look through the photos, and email us the best 1-3 variations.

Can I use an old photo?

Absolutely! We all have favourite photos of our four-legged friends including those that may no longer be with us. Preferably the photo has been taken at eye-level, showing the whole dog’s head, and is nicely exposed.

ORDERING MY ARTWORK

What am I ordering?

You are ordering a Digital File of the watercolour artwork that we have created for you, it is a high-resolution file at 300 dpi.
The file is currently available to purchase in 3 sizes: A5, A4 & A3.

With the file you can make prints at home or order prints & other display products at a professional photo lab on the High Street or online.

When will I receive my artwork?

We will send you a proof of your artwork - once you have approved it you will receive your artwork as a digital file on the same day via email.

How is it made?

Our watercolour dog portraits are created digitally in our own studio and are guaranteed 100% unique! They can only be found at Four Legs One Tale ®.

Our experienced professional digital artists use our own refined photo retouching and digital blending processes, which turns your original photo into an illustrated masterpiece.

Can I include more than 1 pet?

For now, we only have options for just one four-legged friend; we will have options for two, three, and four pets very soon.

Can I preview my artwork?

Yes, all customers get to preview their artwork, we will send you a watermarked copy for your approval.

Do you do just dogs?

Cats are very welcome as well. We also try to accommodate other pets, so please get in contact with us before you order. Our email is: woof@fourlegsonetale.com

Can you add or remove items?

Sorry, but no. The photos you send us are what our expert professional artists will use. However, whilst it is not a guarantee, we can possibly remove a dog collar and make minor adjustments as we feel necessary.

What are the payment options?

When checking out you will be taken to PayPal where you can login to your PayPal account. You will also have the option of paying by a debit or credit card (depending on your country) with VISA, Eurocard, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Discover.

Four Legs One Tale ® is a trading name of Dotty Media Ltd and this name will be seen on your purchase statements.

REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS

Can I cancel my order?

Cancellations for products purchased in our Costume, Watercolour & Illustration collections are only possible within the first 12 hours of placing an order. After 12 hours cancellations are not possible as your order is immediately assigned to an artist who begins preparation work straight away.

Cancellations from our Greeting Card collection is only possible within the first 2 hours of placing an order. As this is a stock item it will be posted straight away.

Do you offer refunds or returns?

As all our Costume, Watercolour & Illustration orders are bespoke and are tailor-made personalised products we do not issue refunds or except returns. We also do not issue refunds or except returns on Greeting Card orders.

If for some reason you receive a completely wrong product or if your item was damaged during transit, we will replace any such issue without question, damages must be reported within 24 hours of receipt along with photographic evidence to validate a replacement, return of the product may be required.
